The design of our tank can be traced back to 1993, when we were approached by local Rally car preparation specialist Graham Quick. He was unhappy with the performance of existing designs, that were not capable of controlling oil effectively in high revving cars whilst being used on stage. Used in a car with a Roy Millington built engine, the oil tank had to work effectively with the engine vacuum that his design introduced.
The tanks effectively separates the air that is trapped in the oil and stores the oil for the short time before it is needed again. The breather at the top of the tank is to be vented to atmosphere, very often via a catch tank if the vehicle is used in competition. The design of our tanks mean that separation is so effective, that no oil loss should be expected through the breather. Twin baffles inside the tank control the oil during violent cornering and braking, ensuring a steady flow of oil is present when needed by the engine.
Because of the friendly installation dimensions, this tank fits easily into most vehicles and has been used in race, rally, endurance, hillclimb and sprint cars, and has been used by professional teams and amateur racers alike.
